Maybe not a new year's resolution, but after yesterday it is definitely an ambition to lead Pigott's Stride at Almscliff. You climb up a boulder then leap across to another! How good? Here's someone doing it -

It's actually only graded Severe so not an unrealistic hope (climbing grades happily start at Difficult, thus making everything you climb sound hard - Very Difficult is actually not a particularly hard climb, but damn it sounds like it is ^_^)

My friend Sharyn is in the Gaza Strip as a human rights worker at the moment and is keeping a blog. She always writes well, but with the current horrors there it's just essential reading. Please link other people to this.

Just drew and printed this flyer for Nazdrove in Sheffield, fully siked on using 2 colours. In fact fully siked on how much I've been drawing recently... been churning out papercuts, lino prints and drawings. Well, at least compared to my usual productivity rates. Contemplating making a blog for it all, but still wary of computers. Ended up cutting and pasting the text on the poster after an hour swearing at the computer (yeh maybe Word isn't the best DTP program, heh heh... but learning InDesign would be far too much like selling out..)

printed on a reisograph machine, which I now possibly prefer over photocopiers. Although they are digital. But they are very quick and make a nice noise... I have a printers co-op in my basement so the beat of them printing 170 pages/minute is often in the background. Mmm.

Oh yeh, I made a new zine, actually Scratch That Itch #2 if you ignore that #1 was put out 2 years ago, whoops.

Let me know if you want a copy, innit.

It's got in

-how to make soap
-some stuff about the Warsaw Ghetto
-a big article on the time I spent in Israel/Palestine
-other crap

it's about 60% ok.

ey up

If any of you are in an email posting mood (all you need to do is cut and paste), someone I worked with in the West Bank was snatched from his home at 4am last week and is being held in 'Administrative Detention' by Israel, which basically means that they never have to put him on trial. He's been in jail before and was tortured then... it's possible that international pressure could get him out. It's all at

And I have one minute left online.

The 'reality-based self defence' class I go to in Leeds is starting a 6 week introductory course on the 27th February. I'd really recommend it - it's basically learning how to avoid fights and what to do if you don't manage that. Also it gets you super fit and there's some dead nice people who train regularly. It's run in the Commonplace Social Centre and is really nonmacho, very queer friendly and cost is donations only. It's on Wednesdays at 7pm, let me know if you'd like to be signed up. The intro course is running as part of the normal trainings, but it'll be easier to join in and start learning from scratch than usual.

So yeh, let me know if you want in on it,

Does anyone know where I can get a power lead for a Canon US500 digital camera? All I can find online are USB leads which is not what I want at all. Help!

that is all. Except it's not, but I don't have any time online.

Can anyone tell me the best way to get to Copenhagen from the UK without flying? Are there ferries? Google is being unhelpful.

Back home in a couple of weeks!
